Has spam ever worked? Maybe they tricked people at the beginning of the internet and they can probably trick a few "noobs" these days into clicking on their links, but who intentionally clicks on unsolicited links for anything? I don't need an escort in Dubai but I do need shoes, and there's no way that I'll ever click on the "discount Nikes!" spam e-mail to purchase new shoes. There CAN'T be very much of a payoff, so why do we still have spam? At least the junk mail that you get in your regular mailbox is mostly useful and mostly from reputable businesses, I doubt that ANY spam is useful OR from a reputable business.

7,000,000,000 people

lets say 0.01% are complete idiots (a low estimate IMO)

thats 70,000 complete idiots, who get tricked into coughing up just 50$ each.

Thats $3,500,000. Just for sending a bot email. Sounds like a good job opportunity.

or the US tax code...

If you want to find out if spam works, just post a roomate
